Broad Street, Denny
Public Consultation Event
Full details will be viewable from 9am on Wednesday 24th April 2024
Background
Cruden Homes (East) is seeking to submit a planning application for a residential development on land to the north of Broad Street, Denny. This will include 15 per cent affordable housing.
In advance of the submission of the application, we will be undertaking two in-person public consultation events, informing the public of the proposals, and using feedback from these to shape our eventual planning application.
The site is already part of a mixed-use allocation (Proposal MU09) in the Falkirk Local Development Plan 2 (LDP2), and forms part of the Denny South-East Strategic Growth Area.
LDP2 is the statutory document which guides future development in the Council area for the period 2020-2040. It contains a vision for the area, an overall strategy, and detailed policies and proposals indicating where development should or should not take place.
Community Consultation
We are keen to hear the community’s views in terms of informing and shaping the design of the development. To that effect, a public consultation event outlining these proposals will be held on Wednesday 24th April between 3pm and 7pm at Denny Baptist Church, 32 Herbertshire St, Denny FK6 6HD.
Consultation boards will be available to view, providing information on the proposals. The development team will also be present to answer your questions, and there will be an opportunity to leave feedback both at the event and online. The consultation boards and feedback form will be uploaded to this website on the day of the event. Feedback for this event should be received no later than Wednesday 15th May.
After the event, we will collate and review all comments and incorporate any amendments, where appropriate, prior to a second public consultation event due to take place on Wednesday 19th June, at the same time and at the same venue.
Comments made do not constitute representations to Falkirk Council. A further opportunity to make representations to the Council will be available following formal submission of the planning application.
Further Consultations
A second event will take place on Wednesday 19th June, at the same time and at the same venue. This will aim to update the initial proposals and incorporate relevant feedback from the first event.
Feedback for the first event should be received by Wednesday 15th May.
